🪦 How to Be Found in Search (RIP SEO)

Google search is dead. Here’s how to be found when people ask ChatGPT

Friends. We are living in unprecedented times.

Technology and innovation are moving at a speed never seen before.

New products and feature releases occur daily, and massive, game-changing breakthroughs occur every quarter, if not every month.

For once, I got the jump on today’s newsletter and wrote it on Monday.

On Tuesday, Google held its I/O 2025 event and announced 100 new products and features that are available now or soon. Most of them are related to AI.

One of those updates is AI Mode, the future of Google Search—quite a timely update given today’s topic.

Google Search isn’t going down without a fight.

Its current form may be dying, but it’ll evolve and rise like a phoenix. šŸ¦ā€šŸ”„

Note the subtle update

As someone who does what they can to stay up to date on everything, I can confidently say it has quickly become an impossible task.

When I saw what Google’s new state-of-the-art image-to-video with native audio generator, Veo 3 (watch these), could do, I was, well, terrified.

It has so many implications for our work, economy, and beyond. It feels impossible to wrap my head around it all.

And we’re not talking decades from now. We’re talking about 24 months.

Next week, I’ll share what I believe to be the best, immediate path forward.

Until then, let’s get into today’s newsletter…

Good morning.

Last Friday, I needed to grab a quart of oil before a road trip and wanted to look at my vehicle’s owner’s manual without digging through the glovebox.

Usually, I’d Google it. This time, I opened ChatGPT.

I immediately had everything I needed, and then some, without having to search various websites.

Then, over the weekend, I saw a LinkedIn post about how someone I don’t know was using ChatGPT to learn about minimalism. A mutual connection of ours came up in their chat results from the content our friend had created on the subject.

Noticing the subtle trend and considering how much more I use AI to learn and find the answers to my questions (rather than Googling it), it’s time we get the jump on the future of search.

SEO is dead. ā˜ ļø RIP Google Search. 🪦

Let’s get into it.
